Build More Traffic with the Power of YouTube

YouTube carries great power when it comes to improving your rankings thereby building traffic. Here’s why. One, YouTube is owned by Google and they work together. Two, YouTube is the second largest search engine next only to Google. Now, if that isn’t enough motivation to make you want go and create your own YouTube channel and upload videos to it, then I don’t know what is.

But, wait don’t go rushing off to create videos just yet. Let’s make sure you’re doing this the right way first so you don’t waste your time:

Comment on other peoples’ videos

Find popular videos in your niche and comment on them. YouTube is a social network!  Just in case you forgot. So, you want to contribute meaningful comments. Writing things like “cool video” or “loved the turkeys” is really kind of weak. Something like, “Thanks for sharing this information. I now have a better understanding of how to clean my dog’s teeth with a toothbrush” is a better example. If viewers like your comments, they are more likely to check out your profile and watch your videos. Another benefit of commenting is that you can include a link to your site in your comments thus giving you traffic.

Promote your videos

You won’t get much traffic without viewers. You can’t just post your videos and expect that viewers will automatically find them no matter how good you think they are. You have to promote them. Putting them on your blog, or on any of your other social sites is a good place to start.

Subscribe to “active” people

Another great way to build traffic on Youtube is to subscribe to active peoples’ channels. Forget the lazy ones. You want to subscribe to those persons who post videos at regular intervals, not haphazardly. You also want those who leave meaningful comments on other peoples’ channels.
There’s approximately an hour of video being uploaded to YouTube every second.  This makes it a valuable resource to drive traffic to your site. However despite the obvious competition, if you consistently create and post quality videos, with time you’ll reap the benefits of your effort which is to build traffic.
